Who is eligible for this offer?
“Eligible Customers” are new-to-Citibank and existing customers who (1) enroll in Citibank's Promotional Interest Rate Offer, (2) open a new Citi Savings Account in a package described below, (3) are at least eighteen (18) years of age, (4) have a valid W-9 or W-8BEN on file with Citibank, and (5) make Qualifying Deposit(s) in New-to-Citibank funds in an amount equal to or more than the Qualifying Amount. The “Qualifying Amount” is $25,000.
Enrollment in the Promotional Interest Rate Offer is available only to Eligible Customers who enroll and open a new Citi Savings Account as a first signer in the Citibank Account Package, the Citi Priority Account Package, or The Citigold Account Package. Eligible Customers who open a new Citi Savings Account in either the Citi Priority Account Package or the Citigold Account Package must also have or open a linked checking account in that same package (“Eligible Checking Account”). Eligible Customers who open a new Citi Savings Account in the Citibank Account Package are not required to open, but may have or open, a linked Eligible Checking Account in that package. Fiduciary, estate, business and or trust accounts are not eligible for this Promotional Interest Rate Offer even if they otherwise meet the definition of Eligible Checking or Eligible Savings Account. However trust accounts that are a Living Trust and Custodial accounts are eligible.
After enrollment, how do I make qualifying deposit(s)?
Between February 6 and April 2, 2018 (“Offer Period”), Eligible Customers must deposit at least the minimum Qualifying Amount (in one, or more than one, deposit) in New-to-Citibank funds into the Citi Savings Account, or, if applicable, into the new or existing linked Eligible Checking Account in the same package (“Qualifying Deposit(s)”). Qualifying Deposit(s) must clear and be included within the Citi Savings Account's or Eligible Checking Account's available balance within ten (10) business days after opening the Citi Savings Account. “New-to-Citibank” funds are funds not currently held by Citibank N.A. and must be deposited via ACH, Direct Deposit, and/or via checks or wires from non-Citi institutions. Cash deposits do not qualify as New-to-Citibank funds. For the Citi Savings Account to receive the Promotional Interest Rate, the Citi Savings Account and, if applicable, Eligible Checking Account, must be in good standing.
What is being offered in the Promotional Interest Rate Offer?
The Promotional Interest Rate Offer is a savings offer. If you are an Eligible Customer and enroll in the Promotional Interest Rate Offer, you will receive a Promotional Interest Rate on your new Citi Savings Account for at least the first ten (10) business days after the date you open your Citi Savings Account. Please see expiration section below.
The Promotional Interest Rate will expire on the earliest of:
1. Ten (10) business days after the date you opened your Citi Savings Account if your Qualifying Deposit(s) in New -to-Citibank funds have not cleared.
2. Any time after ten (10) business days, if the balance in your Citi Savings Account, on which we have received credit, falls below the Qualifying Amount.
3. Whichever comes first, the ninetieth (90th) calendar day after the date you opened your Citi Savings Account, or the date that your Citi Savings Account has earned a maximum of $1,600 in interest from the Promotional Interest Rate(s).
Once the Promotional Interest Rate expires, it cannot be reinstated. After the Promotional Interest Rate expires, your Citi Savings Account will be subject to the Standard Interest Rate in effect at the time. Standard Interest Rates vary based on account balance ranges. Customers will earn the applicable Standard Interest Rate in effect for their account balance range. Standard Interest Rates are variable and may change after account opening at Citibank's discretion and without prior notice to customers.
If an Eligible Customer has both an Eligible Checking Account and a Citi Savings Account, the customer may make the Qualifying Deposit(s) into either account, but the Promotional Interest Rate will apply only to the Citi Savings Account and, after the first ten business days, only if the balance of the Citi Saving Account on which we have received credit has not fallen below the minimum Qualifying Amount for the account package.
* The Annual Percentage Yields (APYs) for this promotion depend upon your account package, market, and account balance. The APYs are a combination of your Promotional Interest Rates with the Standard Interest Rates that will apply after the Promotional Interest Rates expires.
The Promotional Interest Rate for the Citi Savings Account balances below $25,000 is less than the Promotional Interest Rate for account balances of $25,000 or more. The APYs for the balances of $24,999 and less assumes that the Promotional Interest Rate expires after 10 business days. The APYs for balances of $25,000 or more assumes that the Promotional Interest Rate expires 90 consecutive calendar days after account opening, or when the $1,600 cap is reached, whichever is earlier.
As of 2/6/18 the Promotional Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Citi Savings Accounts in The Citigold Account Package or Citi Priority Account Package in all states is 0.04% on balance less than $10,000.00; 0.06% on balance of $10,000-$24,999.99; 0.39%% on balance of $25,000-$49,999.99; 0.39% on balance of $50,000.00-$99,999.99; 0.40% on balance of $100,000-499,999.99; 0.43% - 0.29% on balance of $500,000.00-$999,999.99; 0.29% - 0.15% on balance of $1,000,000.00 or more.
As of 2/6/18 the Promotional Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Citi Savings Accounts in The Citibank Account Package in all states is 0.04% on balance less than $10,000.00; 0.04% on balance of $10,000-$24,999.99; 0.35% on balance of $25,000-$49,999.99; 0.35% on balance of $50,000.00-$99,999.99; 0.36% on balance of $100,000-499,999.99; 0.39% - 0.27% on balance of $500,000.00-$999,999.99; 0.27% - 0.13% on balance of $1,000,000.00 or more.
Higher APYs may be available for Citi® Savings Accounts in a Citi Priority Account Package or a Citigold Account Package. To learn more about enrolling in an offer in those packages speak to a Personal Banker at any Citibank® branch or visit www.citi.com.
The Promotional Interest Rate for balances less than the Qualifying Amount of $25,000 is less than the Promotional Interest Rate for higher balances and will expire 10 business days after account opening. Thereafter balances less than $25,000 will earn the Standard Interest Rate.
The Promotional Interest Rate Offer may be modified or withdrawn prior to enrollment at any time without notice.
The Promotional Interest Rate is only applicable to the Citi Savings Account.
If I am eligible, how do I enroll in this promotion?
You can enroll in the Promotional Interest Rate Offer and open the Eligible Savings Account (and Eligible Checking Account, if applicable) by clicking “Apply now” on the account opening page on Citibank Online (citi.com) and proceeding to the account opening page, or by visiting a Citibank branch and asking a Citibank Representative to enroll you, or by contacting a Citibank representative by telephone. Enrollment and participation in this promotion does not guarantee eligibility.
Important Tax Information: The bonus interest will be reported to the IRS as interest, in the year received, as required by applicable law. Bonus interest received by U.S. persons will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT for the year received. Bonus interest received by non-U.S. persons will be reported on IRS Form 1042-S for the year received. Customer is responsible for taxes and consulting a tax advisor. To be eligible for the bonus interest, a U.S. person must have a valid Form W-9 on file, and a non-U.S. person must have a valid Form W-8BEN on file, and the account must not be subject to back-up withholding.
Can I enroll and fulfill multiple savings and checking offers during the Offer Period?
Yes, with the following limitations. When multiple savings offers are available within an Offer Period, Customers may participate in more than one savings account offer during the Offer Period. However, customers can only participate in each savings account offer once per Offer Period. Further, if you enroll in multiple savings account offers during the Offer Period you must fulfill the requirements of each offer in which you are enrolled, in order to qualify for each offer's bonus. Customers may be enrolled in a Citibank retail banking checking promotion and savings promotions during the same Offer Period unless expressly prohibited; however, the requirements of each promotion must be met separately.

2 Separate enrollment of eligible consumer checking account in Citi ThankYou® Rewards required. Eligible customers with a checking account in the Citi Private Bank Account, Citigold Account, Citi Priority Account or The Citibank Account Packages can enroll their checking accounts in ThankYou Rewards. Eligibility and participation are subject to terms, conditions and restrictions. Customer must be a citizen or resident alien of the United States (U.S.) with a valid U.S. taxpayer identification number. Taxes, if any, are customer's responsibility. You must complete 1 qualifying Bill Payment and 1 qualifying Direct Deposit each statement period in order to earn monthly ThankYou® Points for eligible products and services linked to your checking account. Citigold®, Citi Priority and Citi Private Bank clients who do not complete these transaction requirements can earn points at a reduced level. 3 Citibank does not charge you a fee for using the Citi Mobile App. However, you must have a web-enabled cell or smartphone to use the Citi Mobile App, and your wireless carrier may charge you for this service.
